Industry / Field service

Know where field technicians are and how much time is spent on the road.

Zenit shows the location, service-call times and non-productive mileage of field teams. It does not manage tickets, dispatch or shifts; those remain in your field-service system. Zenit adds the vehicle context that system may be missing today.

Operational problems

In field service the vehicle is part of the service, even when the work takes place off-site.

Operational quality depends on availability, presence, mileage, times, maintenance and shared information.

Field technicians

Teams and vehicles move between customers, offices, construction sites and service areas.

Assignment of vehicles

Reliable data is needed to understand which vehicle is available and suitable for the next job.

Service-call times

Arrival, dwell time and departure need to be reconstructed without repeated phone calls.

Non-productive mileage

Unplanned travel, stops and routes affect the cost of the service.

Weak reporting

Vehicle presence and use become difficult to prove retrospectively.

Dispersed maintenance

The service vehicle must remain available and consistent with the workload.

Relevant Zenit solutions

For GPS field service, geofences and reports are the basis.

Zenit connects fleet and territory, without promising unimplemented dispatch or shifts.

Fleet Management

Vehicles, drivers, alerts, usage, maintenance and reports in a central view.

GPS tracking

Location, journey history, stops and geofences provide context for service calls and on-site presence.

CAN bus and consumption

Mileage, fuel, idle time and anomalies on service vehicles.

Service-area geofences

Entries, exits and dwell time in operational areas or at customer premises.

Operational reports

On-site presence, vehicle use and travel time between service calls.

APIs

Fleet data is sent via API to the system that already manages tickets and field-service jobs.

Before and after

From manual checks to operational vehicle traceability.

Zenit brings vehicle and territory data into the process, without replacing dispatch tools.

Before

  • 1

    Service call confirmed by phone

Arrival, stay and exit are reconstructed through calls or manual notes.

  • 2

    Routes not analysed

Mileage and non-productive stops remain hidden in the cost of each job.

  • 3

    Subsequent maintenance

An unavailable vehicle disrupts service calls and rescheduling.

With Zenit

  • 1

    Contextual presence record

Geofences and journey history provide context for the service call.

  • 2

    Measurable shifts

Routes, stops and vehicle use become comparable data.

  • 3

    Governed availability

Maintenance and anomalies are part of fleet planning.

Economic and organizational impact

The value lies in making field operations more transparent.

The impact is evaluated on times, kilometres, presence, use and availability of vehicles, without automatic promises.

Times

Arrival, stay and exit can be read with more context.

Mileage

Routes and stops help identify non-productive patterns.

Vehicle availability

Maintenance and anomalies become part of operational control.

Reporting

Cleaner data supports reporting to operations and customers.

  1. 01

    Verify

Presence and use of the vehicle.

  2. 02

    Reduce Opacity

    Mileage, stops and unexplained time.

  3. 03

    Connect

Fleet and company systems through integrations defined on the use case.

coverage

Zenit is not workforce management, and it is better to know this beforehand

It is the most frequent confusion in this sector: two product categories that touch and do not overlap.

We do not assign work or manage tickets

Zenit does not provide dispatch, service-call queues, shift planning or order management. Dedicated software already exists for those tasks, and you may already use it. Zenit provides the vehicle context: where vehicles are, how long they took to arrive and how long they remained on site.

What Zenit adds to the system you already have

A field-service management system often lacks two facts it cannot measure directly: actual journey time and vehicle presence on site. A job closed at 15:00 does not show whether the technician arrived at 11:00 or 14:00, yet that difference materially affects the cost of the round.

  • Location of vehicles and history of routes, with stops and their duration
  • Entries and exits from defined areas, with time
  • Mileage and fuel consumption per assigned vehicle
  • Deadlines and maintenance on actual use of the vehicle

Vehicle presence is technical data, not a time clock

A geofence can show that a vehicle was within an area at a given time. Using that data to monitor the person driving is a company decision with privacy and employee-relations implications, and must involve the appropriate company stakeholders. Zenit provides the data and access controls; the company defines the policy.

The integrations depend on the other half

Zenit provides APIs for fleet data. What can be transferred, and in which format, depends on the receiving system. We therefore start with the data that system needs rather than the full set Zenit can send.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions for field service.

Answers on the boundaries between fleet, presence, reports and intervention systems.

Does Zenit replace a workforce management system?

No. Zenit supports location, geofencing, vehicle usage, maintenance, reporting and integrations. Tickets, staff shifts and complete dispatch require dedicated systems and are not part of the functions described on this page.

Is presence verification based on geofences?

Geofences can record entry, exit and dwell time within a service area. The company must define the operating rules and how this data may be used.

Does Zenit help identify non-productive mileage?

Location, history, stops and vehicle use can highlight patterns to analyze. No automatic cuts or guaranteed percentages are promised.

Can the data connect with existing field-service systems?

Yes, through APIs and integrations, but there is no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on three things: what system is already in use, what data needs to pass from one side to the other, and what technical coverage is available on both sides. The verification is done on the real system, not on the principle.
